Artist's Comments

A painting of a large aloe vera with blue for green and purple for yellow.
I painted it a few years back and still no-one gets it.

What is there not to get... I wonder.

Unless I'm missing some other, deep message within the painting all this time.

Interesting profile you've incorporated into the shadow part.

I faved this cause I fell in love with these plants after seeing William Leeches "Aloe" painting in the Hunts Museum in Limerick. There was just something about the way he painted them to where they looked to be moving like sea grass in the breeze.

Before that I just thought of them as nasty prickly things...one of the few plants that grow in the scorching Texas heat. Which is where I am from originally.

Still you miss it but i'm suprised at the level of faves it got

Then you know of their healing properties?
:iconglunac:
Just of the ones to help with itches & burns (esp. sunburns); Aloe juice can be taken internally for intestinal problems.

Tell people that no one understands it.

14 million will claim to understand.
